Dermatology
At the Centrum pohybové medicíny Pavla Koláře, we provide specialized care in the field of dermatology. Dermatology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, nails and hair, including some diseases of the mucous membranes. This includes a wide range of problems from acute skin rashes to chronic skin diseases. We offer patients comprehensive dermatological care with an emphasis on an individual approach and the use of modern treatment methods. We also focus on the prevention and early detection of more serious conditions, such as skin tumors.
Dermatological care
The most common areas and procedures of our dermatology clinic include:
- Skin Disease Treatment: We treat common skin diseases such as acne, atopic eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, warts, fungal skin and nail diseases, and other dermatitis. We tailor treatment to each patient – from topical preparations (ointments, creams) to systemic therapy for more serious conditions.
- Dermatological prevention and screening: We perform preventive examinations of moles and pigmented lesions using a dermatoscope. This non-invasive examination enlarges the structures of the mole and helps to detect warning changes, such as melanoma or other skin tumors, in their early stages.
- Surgical procedures in dermatology: We perform minor surgical procedures under local anesthesia in the outpatient clinic. We remove unwanted moles, fibromas, warts or other small skin growths if they are bothersome or if their removal is recommended (for example, if changes are suspected). If necessary, we send the removed sample for histological examination to exclude more serious findings.
- Cryotherapy: We use liquid nitrogen cryotherapy to treat some skin lesions. This method involves rapidly freezing warts, seborrheic verrucas, or other small growths, causing them to die and fall off. It is an effective and minimally painful procedure.
We use modern equipment in the clinic to accurately determine the diagnosis. The dermatoscope allows us to examine skin lesions in detail when enlarged and assess their structure. In indicated cases, we take skin samples for histological examination (skin biopsy) to confirm or rule out more serious diagnoses. We also cooperate with laboratories - for example, we can perform skin swabs when a bacterial or fungal infection is suspected, or blood tests to examine hormone levels or autoantibodies in certain skin diseases. Based on the results of all examinations, we determine the optimal treatment plan. Our goal is not only to solve current skin problems, but also to prevent them from returning or worsening.
A comprehensive dermatological examination is intended for CPMPK clients and its price is CZK 2,500 , a follow-up examination is CZK 2,000.
