Czech research in pediatric physiotherapy was presented at the international conference EACD & IAACD 2025

News - 2025-07-01

On May 23-25, 2025, the prestigious international conference EACD & IAACD 2025 was held in Heidelberg, Germany, which was dedicated to research and innovations in the field of pediatric rehabilitation. CPMPK was represented at this event thanks to the participation of Mgr. Tereza Štveráková, PhD. , a physiotherapist from the Waltrovka workplace.

Tereza presented her research here entitled:
"Reliability of the Czech version of the GMFM-88 test in children with cerebral palsy."

The GMFM-88 (Gross Motor Function Measure) test is an internationally recognized tool for assessing gross motor skills in children with cerebral palsy (CP). The aim of the research was to verify whether the Czech version of this test is as reliable as the original and suitable for use in Czech clinical practice.

The results showed high internal consistency and good test-retest reliability. This means that the test in the Czech version is not only understandable, but also accurate and stable over time. It can therefore become a standard for assessing the motor skills of children with DMO in our country as well.

The conference also included an inspiring exchange of experiences with experts from all over the world and an overview of current trends in the field of pediatric physiotherapy. Participation in such an international event is proof of the professional level of our specialists and the openness of CPMPK to research and innovation.

We thank the Konto Bariéry Foundation for its financial support and the CPMPK leadership for supporting the development of the team even outside of everyday clinical practice.
