Do you have new glasses, but you still can't see well?

Blog - 2026-09-01

We meet people who have had several measurements and have several pairs of glasses at home. Yet none of them bring them comfortable and secure vision. Eyes get tired quickly, when working on a computer, they experience eye strain or headaches, and a person does not get used to the new correction even after a long time.

In some cases, the correction may be too strong or not strong enough. Sometimes the diopters themselves are measured correctly, but the cause of the problem lies elsewhere - in the way the visual system focuses, coordinates both eyes, and responds to long-term strain.

When does it make sense to look for broader contexts?

The difficulties may be related to, for example:

  • focusing disorder or difficulty switching vision between distance and near,
  • hidden deviation of the eyes,
  • insufficient cooperation between the right and left eyes,
  • different eye strain or worse tolerance of correction,
  • problems that only become apparent when driving, working at a screen or when tired.

Vision may still be uncertain after the procedure.

People can also experience similar problems after laser surgery, cataract surgery, or intraocular lens replacement. From a medical point of view, the procedure may be fine and visual acuity may be good, but the person may still experience glare, poorer vision in dim light, uncertainty when driving, fatigue, or an unnatural feeling when changing vision from far to near.

In such a situation, it is important to check the health of the eye and the result of the procedure. At the same time, it makes sense to assess the resulting correction, the cooperation of both eyes, focusing and the behavior of the eye under normal stress. The goal is not to automatically prescribe more glasses, but to find out why the current solution does not bring the expected comfort.

Have you had new glasses or eye surgery, but your vision is still not comfortable and clear? Make an appointment for a comprehensive ophthalmological-optometric examination.
